Elsewhere In Between is a film shot by five participants living in different parts of the world.
When the opportunity arose to work with BT Exact using their Media Tools software I decided to expand upon an existing collaboration – Love and Adventure – and explore how their software might be used to facilitate the making and viewing of multiple narratives.
I invited the original participants, plus a new collaborator Amir Nedaei from Tehran, to shoot footage from the on-line script and then send their footage to London to be edited into a series of databases.
The clips are indexed by SUBJECT AND PLACE and presented to the viewer through an interactive menu. Through this menu the audience can explore the similarities and differences between the global/urban landscape.
Elsewhere In Between was commissioned as part of the ITEM project by FACT (Foundation for Art and Creative Technology) and funded by NESTA (National Endowment for Science, Technology and the Arts) and The Arts Council of England.
